Ruth Eleanor (Stevens) Crabtree Seavey, 1919-2010

SCARBOROUGH - Ruth E. Seavey, 91, passed away Aug. 31, 2010, in Portland. She was born May 2, 1919, in Garland, a daughter of Perl and Olive (Chambers) Stevens. Ruth was employed at a local shoe shop and proudly retired from Jordan's Meats after many years of employment. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, mowing her lawn, gardening, shopping for bargains, baking and spending time with her special friend - her cat, Brini Maxwell. Ruth was predeceased by her parents; daughter, Joanne Mason; sister, Fern Arlene Stevens; brothers, Onel Clifton Stevens, infant brother Merle Fenten Stevens and Dana Eugene Stevens; and husbands, Vinal Crabtree and Norman Seavey. She will be eternally missed by her brothers, Levi Clayton Stevens and his wife, Lottie, and Floyd Perl Stevens and wife, Janice; son, Lewis Crabtree and wife, Ginger; and grandchildren, Tony Moore, Darryl Crabtree, Jennifer Gerding, Roxanne Price, Deborah Godin and Judy Mason. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. Services and burial will be private at a later date. Arrangements are by Independent Death Care, 660 Brighton Ave., Portland.
